Read the case, beat the clock
Fast solvers are not faster fingers so much as faster eyes: they know the case before the hand moves. The trainer deals patterns from the verified library at random angles and times how long you take to name them. Your times stay on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
The 2×2 set drills the seven ways a pocket cube's top face can need turning, which is the whole of that puzzle's middle step. Answer with the buttons or the keys 1 to 4; after a miss, the space bar deals the next card. Each pattern appears at a random angle because that is how solves serve them: the T perm does not wait politely with its headlights facing you. Competition solvers aim to name a permutation in well under a second. Do not expect that this week.
A wrong answer is the useful kind. The trainer shows you what the case really was and links straight to its page, where the algorithm plays move by move. Your slowest reads collect at the foot of the page; ten minutes on those beats an hour of shuffling the whole deck.
Every pattern dealt here is drawn from the same verified library as the case pages: definitions checked by simulation, coverage proved by enumeration. Times and accuracy are stored in this browser's local storage and can be cleared from your browser settings.
